Nova Contemporary presents Blazing, Chetsada Phuwiang’s first solo exhibition with the gallery, on view from 24 October to 19 December 2026. The exhibition coincides with Phuwiang’s inclusion in the 2026 Bangkok Art Biennale, his first institutional exhibition. Blazing brings together paintings in which the body rarely arrives whole. Phuwiang builds his surfaces from sand, oil and acrylic and resolves them in airbrush, so that a shoulder, a mouth or a hand comes briefly into focus before dissolving into saturated colour and grain. In the artificial glow of nightlife and the changing atmospheres of the natural world alike, Phuwiang finds light that reveals and withholds at once; his figures hover between approach and hesitation, the impulse to touch and the vulnerability of being seen.
