Kawita Vatanajyankur in ERRATA

MAIIAM Contemporary Art Museum, Chiang Mai

Kawita Vatanajyankur is featured in ERRATA, one of four shows for Collecting Entanglements and Embodied Histories, a travelling exhibition created in dialogue between the collections of Galeri Nasional Indonesia, MAIIAM Contemporary Art Museum, Nationalgalerie–Staatliche Museen zu Berlin, and Singapore Art Museum.

 

The collaboration with debut at MAIIAM Contemporary Art Museum in Chiang Mai, Thailand, encompassing works from 38 artists and 4 archives. In development since 2017, Collecting Entanglements and Embodied Histories aims to trace stories, counter-histories and absent histories, drawing from spirits that populate the present while seeking new narratives. The project poses questions on how these interwoven histories exist within nation-building processes and individual identity formation, further exploring how these themes are embodied by the feautured artists and their practices.
