Catch the Light by the Sidewalk: Prae Pupityastaporn

31 January - 14 March 2026
In Catch the Light by the Sidewalk, Prae Pupityastaporn presents a series of paintings where strange and illogical sources of light recur. Glows appear misplaced, doubled, or detached from stable origin. The disoriented viewer drifts in and out of the paintings, unsure of where they are, or whether they have been here before.

These works are not concerned with secrets, nor do they withhold meaning. Instead, they offer hints. Each painting operates as an individual world, self-contained yet quietly connected to the others. There is a feeling of déjà vu, a fake memory, or the impression of encountering the same place at different moments or from shifted perspectives. The paintings echo one another without resolving into unified coherence. Throughout the exhibition, a condition of “maybe” persists, allowing one to wander, hesitate, and feel momentarily lost. For Prae, confusion is not a failure of understanding but a state to be inhabited.
